Job summary

Quality & Reliability (QnR) invites a Backend Developer to design, develop and maintain secure backend services for enterprise projects. The role focuses on Java with Spring Boot, TDD and efficient database usage in Oracle/PostgreSQL environments.

You will work with Front-End, BA-QA, and senior developers, contributing to code quality, automated checks, and knowledge sharing in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or related field; 4+ years backend with Java 11/17+
• Experience with Spring Boot, SQL databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL), JPA/Hibernate
• Strong OO design, design patterns, SQL optimization and TDD practices
• Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, security best practices

Responsibilities

• Develop & Maintain Java services using Spring Boot for enterprise projects.
• Improve code quality with reusable libraries, code reviews, and automated checks.
• Write unit tests and follow TDD; document backend development.
• Collaborate with Front-End, QA, and senior developers; participate in rituals and knowledge sharing.
• Support releases, ensure compliance, and troubleshoot backend issues.

Role overview

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join Quality & Reliability (QnR) and design, develop and maintain secure applications. As a Mid Back End Developer, you will work on designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend services for enterprise projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Front-End, BA-QA) and be exposed to modern practices such as AI-driven automation to improve development efficiency and code quality. What you’ll work on:

• Develop & Maintain Java Services: Implement and optimize Spring Boot-based backend solutions, ensuring clean, secure, and efficient code
• Enhance Code Quality & Performance: Contribute to reusable libraries, peer code reviews, automated quality checks (e.g., SonarQube), and database optimization (Oracle, Postgres)
• Testing & Documentation: Write and maintain unit tests (JUnit, Mockito), follow TDD principles, and document backend development for clarity and maintainability
• Collaboration & Agile Practices: Work closely with Front-End, QA, and senior developers, participate in stand-ups, retrospectives, and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Support & Troubleshooting: Assist in product releases, ensure compliance, and resolve backend issues to maintain smooth system operations

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus), or equivalent professional experience
• 4+ years of backend development experience with Java (11, 17+)
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, SQL (Oracle/PostgreSQL), JPA/Hibernate, Maven, and Git
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Design Patterns, SQL optimization, indexing, and TDD practices
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines), and security best practices
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools, LLM technologies, and front-end frameworks such as ReactJS is an advantage
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with an organized, adaptable, and continuous-learning mindset
