Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Backend Data Engineer to support a federal program focused on enterprise data modernization and reporting within the national security and defense sector. Qualifications

• 3-4 years of hands‑on Data Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, and enterprise data pipeline development.
• Experience integrating legacy systems, performing ETL processes, and managing data repositories.
• Experience with Azure cloud environments and enterprise data transformation methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Active Secret Clearance required; Security+ Certification (IAT Level II) required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Connect and ingest data from legacy systems, SQL databases, and disparate data sources.
• Perform data transformation, cleansing, staging, aggregation, and repository management.
• Optimize backend data architecture to support Power BI and other enterprise reporting platforms.

Compensation for the Backend Data Engineer includes:

Salary Range: ~$100,000 annually depending on experience
