Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer (Backend) to advance the Secure the Enterprise initiative by shifting from manual security evaluation to automated processes, continuous monitoring, and data gathering across the project lifecycle.

The role focuses on developing Python-based REST endpoints and microservices with Django/Flask, interacting with MariaDB or MongoDB, and delivering backend middleware support for multiple applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 8 years of applicable professional experience.
• Experience developing Python-based REST endpoints and microservices.
• Backend development with Django/Flask and MongoDB/MariaDB.
• Clear understanding of continuous monitoring and automation as part of projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and sustain Python-based REST endpoints, microservices, and data model management capabilities utilizing Django and Flask frameworks to interact with data models stored in MariaDB or MongoDB and send data upon request, in JSON format, to UI front ends.
• Provide middleware and backend support to all system applications.
