Reducto, Inc. seeks a Backend/AI Engineer to join our SF team. You will work on our core API powering document parsing, integrating cutting-edge LLMs, and building scalable processing pipelines to support hundreds of companies.

You’ll ship fast with high agency, writing robust Python code, and creating internal tools as needed. This in-person role offers the chance to impact product direction alongside the founders and customers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building real world applications and integrating LLMs into production systems.
• Exceptional at Python.
• Ability to build own tools and quick prototypes (e.g., Streamlit apps).
• A quantitative approach with hands-on full development lifecycle from ideation to shipping.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and optimize LLM calls for structured extraction, form filling, and document understanding tasks.
• Improve API design and pre-processing algorithms (chunking, structured extraction).
• Build and improve document processing pipelines from PDFs to spreadsheets at scale.
• Experiment with new techniques and output structures to improve LLM accuracy and reduce latency.
• Build internal tooling and evals to understand and analyze failure cases.
• Collaborate directly with founders and customers to shape product direction.
