Job summary

Datasite, based in NYC, is hiring senior/staff/principal backend engineers with deep Python and AI expertise to design production APIs and distributed systems for the Blueflame AI platform. You’ll contribute to high‑quality software and help shape architectural choices in a fast‑moving, highly collaborative environment near Central Park.

You should have 8+ years of professional software engineering, expert Python, and extensive experience building RESTful APIs, with MongoDB and Redis.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Expert-level Python
• Extensive experience building production REST APIs
• Strong system design and architecture experience
• Experience with distributed systems (MongoDB and Redis)
• Currently based in (or willing to relocate to) the NYC metro area
• Able to work onsite in NYC three days per week

Responsibilities

• Design and implement server-side logic and functionality for the Blueflame AI platform
• Create, maintain, and optimize databases (MongoDB, Redis)
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for server and client communications
• Implement security measures to protect data and applications
• Contribute to system design and architectural decisions
• Review and approve pull requests; plan and scope deliverables
• Optimize platform performance and fix bugs
• Collaborate with Product and Client Success on requirements and delivery
• Write and maintain documentation for code, processes, and best practices
