Job summary

Bilt Rewards is seeking a Software Engineer, AI in New York. You will own backend systems powering Concierge across the app, web, and SMS, and guide agent capabilities, runtimes, and integrations with partners.

You should have 4+ years building production-grade backend services, strong cloud experience (Python/Go/Java on Google Cloud), and hands-on work with LLMs. Expect ownership, fast pace, and impact at scale.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and operating backend services in production.
• Strong in at least one backend language and cloud experience (Python, Java, Go).
• Solid distributed systems fundamentals (async, pub/sub, idempotency, caching).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and making them reliable.
• Good product judgment and clear writing for prompts and docs.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the Concierge backend used by the Bilt app, web, and SMS.
• Develop agent capabilities, runtimes, and integrations with partner systems.
• Manage performance, cost per conversation, and reliability for high traffic bursts.
• Create eval harnesses, prompts, and prompts changes with measurable impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship features end-to-end.
