Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Back Up Machine Operator for the Weekend Night Shift in Hanover, PA. You will support production by supplying materials, moving finished goods to the warehouse, and operating barrel filling lines, rod machines, and labelers.

• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Knowledge of barrel filling lines, rod machine and labelers.
• Able to lift at least 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supply production lines with needed materials.
• Place skids of cardboard, barrels and trays at stations.
• Move product from packing to warehouse using a handjack.
• Substitute for Packaging Machine Operator during breaks or vacations.
• Transport rolls of packaging film.
• Change code blocks for daily/weekly code and price.
• Operate vertical form and fill packing machines basics.
• Start/stop machine power, vibrator and conveyor.
• Run barrel filling stations, labeling equipment, and packaging lines.
• Assist Packaging Machine Operator as needed.
• Work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
• Maintain safe working practices and report issues.

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Back Up Machine Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA on Weekend Night Shift.

As a Back Up Machine Operator, this candidate will be responsible for supplying production lines with packaging materials, transporting skids of finished product to warehouse, as well as operating barrel filling lines, rod machine and labelers. This position works Thursday to Saturday 5:55 PM – 5:55 AM.

Responsibilities

• Supplies production lines with needed materials.
• Places skids of cardboard, barrels and trays at tables and packing stations.
• Moves product from packing area to warehouse by pulling handjack filled with product.
• Substitutes for Packaging Machine Operator during breaks, lunches, illness and vacations.
• Transports rolls of packaging film.
• Changes code blocks to appropriate daily and weekly code and price.
• Basic understanding of vertical form and fill packing machines.
• Starts and stops power to the machine, vibrator and conveyor.
• Operates barrel filling stations, labeling equipment, rod packaging and sticks packaging.
• Assists the Packaging Machine Operator as needed.
• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
