Job summary

Repsol Renewables Services North America (RRSNA) seeks a Back Office & Market Operations Intern to support the Energy Management and Market Operations team in settlement activities, market reporting, portfolio monitoring, and REC administration in Downtown Houston.

This twelve-week program runs May 17, 2027 – August 6, 2027, offering exposure to wholesale power markets, financial analysis, and commercial energy management practices within a global, inclusive team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in listed fields.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing physical and financial settlement data for energy market transactions.
• Support reconciliation of settlement and invoicing information for PPAs.
• Help monitor metering data and validate transactions.
• Prepare reports and analyses related to energy market performance and asset economics.
• Support monthly/quarterly planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
• Analyze variances between actual results and forecasted performance.
• Research ERCOT market fundamentals, pricing trends, and developments.
• Support portfolio monitoring by tracking position/exposure reports.
• Assist REC administration and tracking processes.
• Maintain databases, reports, and operational records.
• Participate in special projects and process improvements.

This internship provides exposure to wholesale power markets, renewable energy operations, financial analysis, and commercial energy management practices. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing physical and financial settlement data associated with energy market transactions.
• Support the reconciliation of settlement and invoicing information for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
• Help monitor power plant metering data and validate transactional information.
• Assist with preparing reports and analyses related to energy market performance and asset economics.
• Support monthly and quarterly business planning, forecasting, and performance tracking activities.
• Assist in analyzing variances between actual results and forecasted performance.
• Research and compile information on ERCOT market fundamentals, pricing trends, and market developments.
• Support portfolio monitoring activities by tracking position and exposure reports.
• Assist with Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) administration and tracking processes.
• Help maintain databases, reports, and operational records to support business decision-making.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
