Job description

We’re looking for some awesome people to join our Back of House team! The kitchen is a hustling and bustling environment with many moving parts, run by a team of taco enthusiasts invested in each other's success. If you’re interested in being part of this well-oiled taco machine, we’d love to hear from you!

Taco Buddha is a concept influenced by great taco joints from Austin, Texas but has evolved with globally influenced flavors that work in tandem with our New-Mex-Tex roots to create delicious tacos, both traditional and adventurous. This, combined with notable, outgoing, and friendly fast-casual service, has propelled us to our success and growth. We opened our second location in June 2023 and are now primed for further expansion. We’re looking for humble, invested, and caring candidates to grow with us.

The kitchen is where the magic happens, and there's a variety of different roles that help this taco machine run smoothly. These roles all blend together, and employees help out where needed to provide high-quality food in a timely manner to our customers.

Open Roles
  • Expo: Everything goes through you. You oversee all orders that leave the kitchen with a close eye to detail to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness. It’s a little crazy and a lotta fun. It pays to be proactive so that you can stay on top of every situation. Special perk: quality checks require tasting a lot of fire food. Come hungry to work and to eat.
  • Food Runner: You are the customer-facing voice of the kitchen, ensuring that everyone receives their food the way they want it while providing excellent customer service.
  • Line Cook: You’re the one cooking the tasty food we serve, ensuring high quality and consistency for every order.
  • Taco Artist: The artists of the kitchen. It’s pretty simple–you’ll be making the tacos. ’Nuff said.
  • Prep Cook: We would be nothing without having food prepped and ready to go. Prepping all the ingredients keeps this taco machine running smoothly.
  • Sanitation Specialist: When the going gets tough, clean dishes are a luxury. You’ll make sure we always have the right equipment ready to go while maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
  • Shift Leader: A leader in the kitchen and someone others can rely on to get things done. This role’s duties include being the all-important key holder, POS system proficiency, proper food handling, menu and recipe knowledge, and being a go-to for any issues that might arise. Note: this role does require more open availability and experience.
Qualities we love to see in all our employees

Excellent customer service, strong communication skills, time management, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, accountability, reliability, sense of humor, cool head under pressure, and above all, just being a genuinely kind and caring person.

Benefits
  • Career growth opportunities with a growing company
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance (for full-time employees 30+ hours/wk)
  • Incremental PTO (for full-time employees 30+ hours/wk)
  • Highly competitive pay
  • No late night shifts
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Free shift meals
