Crown Holdings is seeking a manufacturing operator to operate palletizing equipment and ensure quality cans. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to GMP, and willingness to work flexible shifts in a high-speed production environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining production logs, identifying jams, and working to keep the area safe and organized while supporting team goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–2 years in inspecting/packaging in high-speed manufacturing.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Operates automatic Palletizer/De-palletizer equipment in the plant.
  • Ensures finished cans meet quality standards and correct pallet patterns.
  • Documents cans, reports jams, and maintains production logs.
  • Performs basic maintenance, cleaning, and uses label tickets for pallets.
  • Maintains safety, GMP compliance, and orderly work area.

Job Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:

  • Operates automatic Palletizer/De-palletizer equipment within the plant.
  • Ensures quality of finished package to include: cans placed correctly on pallets per customer order, manually insert cans to complete proper layer patterns, removes minor jams and reports major jams and/or irregularities to Maintainer or Supervisor
  • Ability to recognize can defects; follows procedure for defect recognition and communication, collects and documents information on cans (50 per hour)
  • Communicates timely and effectively; advises lift driver when supplies are needed and to remove defective supplies.
  • Maintains log of production and/or downtime, spoilage as required.
  • Using computerized system, makes label (tickets) for pallets
  • Performs preventative maintenance and Housekeeping to include cleaning the Palletizer, plungers and fingers.
  • Knowledge of measurements and specifications of cans.
  • Successfully follows all standard operating procedures; company policies and procedures; good attendance is required.
  • Ensures compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) at all times
  • Monitors equipment or processes and reports all problems to supervision.
  • Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or G.E.D preferred
  • 1-2 year(s) experience in inspecting/packaging and high speed manufacturing environment.
  • Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support.

Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The team member frequently is required to climb or balance
  • The team member is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
  • Generally works in a manufacturing environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
  • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures especially in the summer and winter months
  • The noise level is frequently loud
