Company and Project Description

A New Zealand startup that has successfully completed several investment rounds over the past few years is developing a mobile travel app (Android / iOS). The app acts as a smart travel companion, seamlessly integrating itinerary management, personalised recommendations from local travel experts, and direct communication with tourism operators.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain integrations with various Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Hostaway, Guesty, MEWS, and others.

  • Develop a robust and scalable integration framework using a microservices architecture to ensure reliability and security.

  • Write tests and set up logging and monitoring systems.

  • Document technical processes and data in Notion.

  • Actively participate in team meetings, provide progress updates, and discuss future dev plans.

Requirements
  • Strong experience working with external APIs (REST, JSON, GraphQL, etc.) in app development.

  • Domain knowledge and experience in the travel & hospitality industry.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with JavaScript / TypeScript, with a focus on Node.js.

  • Experience with Firebase / Supabase and modern cloud platforms.

English Level
  • Advanced (C1)

Work Schedule & Timezone
  • Flexible (8 hours/day), with a required overlap of at least 2 hours with New Zealand business hours.
