Job summary

GIGATEC Engineering in New York is seeking a Back End Software Engineer to help evolve and sustain a mission-focused software suite. You’ll work across backend services, containers, orchestration, and integration points to keep applications resilient and ready for what comes next.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance and favorable polygraph completion, with authorized work in the U.S. Experience with Python, Rust concepts, Docker, Kubernetes, and databases like MongoDB is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience using Linux CLI and tools.
• Experience developing scripts using Bash.
• Recent Python (3.x) software development experience.
• Experience with Rust concepts, or willingness to learn Rust.
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes
• Familiar with RabbitMQ messaging
• Familiar with GitLab CI
• Familiar with Ansible
• Experience using Git Source Control System

Required Skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Tools


• Experience developing scripts using Bash


• Recent Python (3.x) software development experience


• Experience with Rust programming concepts, or a willingness and aptitude to learn Rust


• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB


• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd


• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes


• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes


• Familiar with Messaging Frameworks including RabbitMQ


• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI


• Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools such as Ansible


• Experience using Git Source Control System

• Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL
