Job summary

Simple Energy in Boulder, CO is seeking a Back-End Engineer to help build scalable services. Candidates with Scala and/or Java experience, plus an understanding of worker queues and NoSQL, are encouraged to apply.

You’ll collaborate with front-end and infra teams to design robust APIs, integrate with MySQL, and contribute to a modern development workflow using Git. A casual, dog-friendly office environment and strong benefits await.

Basic Position Requirements (Back-End Engineer)

• Scala and/or Java experience a plus
• Understanding of worker/message queues
• NoSQL experience

Everyone on the team should have a basic understanding of:

• JQuery
• PHP
• MySQL (Basic syntax)
• AJAX
• General understanding of RESTful APIs
• Familiarity GIT or version control repositories
