This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to building robust and scalable backend systems in a dynamic startup environment. This is an unpaid role until our next round of fundraising, providing a chance to grow with us from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain server-side logic and APIs, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Design and implement data storage solutions, including database schemas and relationships.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Optimize application performance and scalability.
• Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and best practices.
• Work closely with our client’s team to understand their requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
• Relevant certifications in backend development or cloud computing are a plus.
• Experience:
• 0-2 years of experience in backend development or a related field.
• Proficiency in server-side languages such as Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java, or PHP.
• Experience with database management systems like MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Salary Range:

• This is an unpaid role until our next round of fundraising. Upon successful fundraising, compensation will be aligned with market standards for junior-level backend developers in the US.
