Job summary

Alta Resource Technologies is seeking a Scientist I/II in Strain Engineering to apply genetic engineering, molecular biology, and metabolic modeling to improve protein expression in a Bacillus host. You will contribute to high-throughput screening and scale-up fermentation, collaborating across teams to drive robust process improvements.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with 1–3+ years of experience.
• Expertise in Bacillus biology and genetics.
• Experience with cloning, promoters, RBSs, secretion tags, and genome engineering.
• Experience with metabolic engineering and profiling of microbial hosts.
• Experience with automated workflow development.
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and sample management software.
• Strong scientific method, statistical analysis, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Engineer Bacillus host strains and expression architectures using genetic techniques.
• Develop high-throughput screening assays and scale-up fermentation processes.
• Collaborate with data scientists and bioproduction teams for rapid scale-up.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and communicate results to stakeholders.
