KIT Helicopter Operations seeks an FAA-certified A&P mechanic to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Bell 407 and MD 500 series helicopters. Work includes base/shop and field environments, travel to remote sites, and support for USFS/DOI contracts.

You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and document airframes and engines, ensuring compliance with FARs and manufacturer directives. Rigby, ID-based with rotational schedule.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on turbine helicopter maintenance experience, with Bell 407 and/or MD 500 series preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain within 30–90 days of hire)
• Ability to obtain (or currently hold) USFS and/or DOI mechanic qualification carding for Bell 407 and/or MD 500 series aircraft
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical publications
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel/work flexible schedules (including weekends, overtime, and on-call as needed)
• Personal set of basic aircraft mechanic hand tools
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing

Responsabilités

• Perform daily, progressive, and major inspections (100-hour, annual, etc.) on Bell 407 and MD 500 series aircraft
• Troubleshoot and repair airframe, engine (Rolls-Royce 250 series), drivetrain, rotor systems, electrical, and avionics issues
• Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, component replacements, sheet metal repairs, corrosion control, and track & balance work
• Maintain accurate aircraft records, logbooks, and documentation in compliance with FARs, manufacturer manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives
• Support field operations and USFS/DOI contract requirements, including travel to remote sites as needed
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to high safety and quality standards
• Participate in the company's Safety Management System and promote a strong safety culture

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced FAA-certified A&P mechanic to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on our fleet of Bell 407 and MD 500 series helicopters (including MD500/MD530 variants). This position supports [utility, powerline, firefighting/USFS, construction, or other operations]. Work includes both base/shop and field environments, with the ability to support USFS/DOI contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior USFS and/or DOI mechanic carding experience
• Bell 407 and/or MD 500 series factory training
• Rolls-Royce 250 series engine experience or factory school
• Field maintenance experience with limited supervision
• Experience with related light turbines (Bell 206 series, etc.)
• Familiarity with electronic maintenance tracking software
• UH-60 Experience a Plus
