Summary:

The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for routine calibration and repair of plant instrument standards.

Primary responsibilities for role:
  1. Calibrate various types of instrument standards and control elements, including electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, temperature, pressure, level, flow, weight and weighing systems, analytical devices, and NIST Standards.
  2. Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on instrument standards and control elements.
  3. Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document work activity.
  4. Provide detailed documentation of all calibration, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  5. Issue/complete job hazard analysis/safe work permits (hot work, excavating, confined space, hazardous atmosphere, etc.).
  6. Adhere to cGMP, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
  7. Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, job plans, and/or equipment manuals to perform work.
  8. Maintain training curriculum requirements.
  9. Complete required Instrumentation Qualifications.
  10. Assist with modification, installation, and startup of new and existing instrument standards.
Requirements:

Trainee:

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 2 years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical trades, or utility equipment operation. A technical Associate’s degree can substitute for the experience.
  2. Associates degree in a relevant technical field.
  3. 2 years relevant experience.
  4. Experience or a combination of education and experience may be considered in place of the stated requirements.

SHIFT: Dayshift 8HR M-F

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with rotating shifts. Exposure to biological fluids, chemicals, electrical equipment, hand tools, moving machinery, noise, dust/gas/fumes/steam, extreme cold and heat, vibration, confined spaces, heights, uneven ground, and personal protective equipment. Heavy lifting up to 75lbs, standing, walking, bending, twisting, repetitive movements, and communication skills are required.
