Job summary

Birlasoft is hiring an Azure Virtual Desktop expert to design, implement, and support enterprise AVD environments across multiple sites. You will focus on secure, reliable end-user computing and automation to improve productivity and resilience.

You will serve as SME for AVD and related Microsoft technologies, provide Tier 3/4 escalation support, and collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to maintain optimal performance. This is a hybrid role with three onsite days.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating AVD environments.
• Expertise with golden images and FSLogix.
• Proven incident escalation and root-cause analysis in VDI.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
• Serve as the technical SME for Azure Virtual Desktop and related Microsoft technologies.
• Provide Tier 3/Tier 4 escalation support for VDI incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Design & Manage AVD host pools, application groups, workspaces, session hosts, and FSLogix profiles.
• Build, maintain, and optimize Windows 10/11 multi-session and single-session golden images.
• Monitor AVD platform health, user experience, capacity, and performance using Azure monitoring tools.
• Implement and maintain automated image creation, deployment, and lifecycle management processes.
• Collaborate with cloud, networking, identity, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless AVD operations.
• Implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for AVD environments.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Skill

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
• Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Azure Virtual Desktop and related Microsoft technologies.
• Provide Tier 3/Tier 4 escalation support for virtual desktop infrastructure incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Design & Manage AVD host pools, application groups, workspaces, session hosts, and FSLogix profiles.
• Build, maintain, and optimize Windows 10/11 multi-session and single-session golden images.
• Monitor AVD platform health, user experience, capacity, and performance using Azure monitoring tools.
• Implement and maintain automated image creation, deployment, and lifecycle management processes.
• Collaborate with cloud, networking, identity, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless AVD operations.
• Implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for AVD environments.

Secondary (Good to have)

• Optimize Azure costs through resource planning, autoscaling, capacity management, and monitoring.
• Good to have integration with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, and Conditional Access policies.
• Design and enforce endpoint security controls and compliance standards within AVD environments.
• Manage Windows Update for Business and patch management processes for AVD session hosts.
• Evaluate and implement new Microsoft Azure and AVD capabilities to improve service delivery.
• Good to have knowledge in infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure Automation, ARM/Bicep, or Terraform.
