Eliassen Group is seeking a VDI Engineer to architect, deploy, and optimize a Citrix-based VDI in Microsoft Azure for a global user base. This contract-to-hire role emphasizes scalable design, just-in-time provisioning, and cost control.

You will lead development of automated deployment, tuning of compute/storage, and ongoing optimization of performance and security across environments. This remote opportunity requires strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with Azure services relevant to VDI such as Azure Compute, Files, NetApp, Monitor.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Terraform, Azure Automation, and ARM/Bicep.
• Proven ability to implement scalable, cost-effective VDI in the cloud.
• Experience with image optimization, session performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of Azure AD and Conditional Access.

Responsabilités

• Architect and deploy Citrix VDI services in Azure to support global end user computing needs.
• Design, implement, and maintain dynamic scaling and automation for just-in-time desktop provisioning.
• Engineer and optimize Azure resources across compute, networking, storage, and identity for scalable VDI.
• Conduct benchmark testing of VDI images, analyze performance metrics, and tune for user experience.
• Collaborate with security, network, and support teams to meet compliance and availability standards.
• Evaluate and pilot alternative VDI platforms such as AVDesktop and Horizon Cloud for cost/perf.
• Monitor, analyze, and improve the VDI environment for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain documentation for architecture, deployments, baselines, and configuration standards.
• Stay current with industry best practices and cloud VDI trends.
