Job summary

Ian Martin Group is seeking a Terraform Infrastructure Engineer to join on a 12-month contract onsite in Spring, TX. You will support an Azure-based, disconnected environment, focusing on IaC with Terraform, automation, and platform reliability.

The ideal candidate upgrades existing code, enhances modules, and strengthens security controls while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will implement automated provisioning, manage Terraform state, and ensure compliant deployment practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Terraform experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and configuration management practices.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services including networking, VMs, storage, NSGs, LB, IAM, RBAC, DR, and governance.
• Experience with GitHub, PRs, merges, and version control workflows.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade, troubleshoot, and enhance an enterprise Terraform codebase in a large Azure environment.
• Develop, maintain, and improve reusable Terraform modules and deployment standards.
• Manage Terraform state, drift remediation, code reviews, PRs, and deployment workflows.
• Deploy and support infrastructure in a disconnected Azure environment.
• Provision and manage Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking, load balancers, security).
• Support GitHub-based IaC deployment pipelines and automated provisioning processes.
• Implement and maintain RBAC, governance, and cloud security best practices.
• Support platform modernization initiatives and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with infra, networking, security, DB, and app teams.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend solutions.
• Support disaster recovery, HA configurations, and Azure cost optimization.
