Job summary

Orrick is seeking a Systems Engineer to support and optimize on-prem and cloud infrastructure from our Wheeling, WV site. The role emphasizes deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, compute, containers, storage, and networking, with hands-on problem solving across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of Information Technology Experience.
• Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
• Knowledge of M365.
• Some UNIX/Linux experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Networking, Virtual Machines, Load Balancing, and ExpressRoute.
• Experience with IaaS, Compute, Containers (AKS/Docker), and Storage solutions.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, or other automation tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools, logging frameworks, and cloud security best practices.
• Azure Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305) desirable.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and optimize On-Prem and cloud infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot Azure networking solutions including VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, and Firewalls.
• Deploy and manage VMs, availability sets, and scaling solutions.
• Optimize compute resources including VMWare and AKS.
• Implement and manage Docker, Kubernetes, and ACI container workloads.
• Configure and manage Dell Storage, Blob/File Storage, Storage Accounts, and Backup/Recovery.
• Monitor Azure environments using Azure Monitor and Security Center.
• Automate deployments using ARM Templates, Terraform, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to improve security and performance.
