Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced System Architect to lead the design of secure, scalable Azure cloud solutions and guide implementation across engineering teams.

The role focuses on distributed systems, integrations, and practical AI/GenAI capabilities on Azure to deliver business-focused outcomes. Ideal candidates will have 8–10+ years in architecture, hands-on IaC with Terraform/Bicep/ARM, and strong cloud security practices.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in System Architecture / Solution Architecture.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure services (compute, storage, networking, security).
• Experience designing scalable, secure, reliable cloud systems.
• Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, integration patterns, and enterprise architecture.
• Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Experience with CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.
• Practical AI/GenAI experience on Azure (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, ML) is a plus.
• Familiarity with document processing, cognitive services, LLM-based architectures.
• Knowledge of RAG patterns, vector databases/search, and AI orchestration.
• Strong communication with engineering teams and stakeholders.
• English level: B2+

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architecture for Azure-based cloud solutions.
• Define secure, scalable, and maintainable system designs from requirements.
• Select Azure services, integration approaches, and deployment models.
• Ensure performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Support engineering teams during implementation and resolve technical issues.
• Contribute to cloud modernization, migration, and system integration.
• Guide infrastructure and deployment using IaC and CI/CD practices.
• Contribute to AI-enabled Azure solutions including LLM-based apps.
