Azure SQL DBA / Architect (Remote)

Primary Location : Remote

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for an Azure SQL DBA / Architect (Remote) for our premier client.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED :

Technical Requirements and Certifications »

• MCTS, MCITP, and / or MVP certifications a plus.
• MCSE / MCSA certifications preferred.

Education and Experience »

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Microsoft SQL DBA, including design, builds, upgrades, migrations, support, and performance tuning database administrative experience.
• Cloud migration project implementation and support experience.
• Must have a complete understanding of underlying data and applications.
• Must possess system knowledge of Windows server, WSFC, Always On, Disaster Recovery, SQL Server databases, architecture, and software development methodologies; strong performance tuning skills; and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with SSIS and SSRS for Business Intelligence requirements. Database administration for MSSQL Server.
• Experience in setting up and supporting SQL Server Mirroring, Log Shipping, Clustering, and other disaster recovery methods.
• Hands-on experience with SQL High Availability features, SQL queries, and clustered environments.
• Experience configuring multi-node (Active/Passive) SQL Server Clustering. Troubleshooting and native monitoring tools proficiency.
• Proficient in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, connectivity, and database integrity checks using DBCC.
• Experience with backups, restore, recovery models, and failover clusters.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, IaaS, PaaS solutions.
• Operational automation using scripts.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and disk configurations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities »

• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server.
• Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO :

Job Responsibilities :

• Design and implement data migration strategies to Azure cloud.
• Plan and execute migration of HA SQL databases to Azure Cloud.
• Lead architecture and design of complex database systems, optimizing for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with teams to translate business requirements into database solutions.
• Promote adoption of cloud-based database solutions, especially Microsoft Azure SQL Managed Instance, for scalability and manageability.
