Job summary

Slavic401k is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to manage patching and vulnerability remediation in Azure across VMs, PaaS, and endpoints. The role focuses on Defender for Cloud, Azure Security Center, and Intune to reduce risk while coordinating with IT and DevOps to minimize business disruption.

The position is remote within the US, with core hours 9am–3pm ET and occasional after-hours support. A strong background in security, cloud engineering, and vulnerability scanning is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in security, systems, or cloud engineering.
• Experience patching and vulnerability remediation in cloud environments, especially Azure.
• Hands-on exposure to vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7) and prioritizing findings.

Responsibilities

• Own the vulnerability and patch management process in Azure for VMs, PaaS workloads, and core services.
• Use Defender for Cloud / Azure Security Center, Azure Update Management, Intune, and Nessus to identify, prioritize, and coordinate remediation.
• Coordinate with IT/DevOps to define patch windows, maintain baselines, and report on remediation status.
