Job summary

Applied Information Sciences (AIS) is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to ensure the health, stability, and performance of Azure Landing Zone and Azure Virtual Desktop environments. You will manage day-to-day operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and governance-compliant changes across core Azure services.

The role emphasizes hands-on administration, automation, and collaboration with security, networking, and service‑desk teams to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure solutions

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of IT infrastructure, cloud operations, or end-user computing support experience.
• Microsoft certifications: Azure Administrator Associate and Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty.
• Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure in an operational environment.
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop or other enterprise virtual desktop technologies.
• Familiarity with Azure core services (VMs, networking, storage, monitoring, identity integration, backup/recovery).
• Working knowledge of Azure governance concepts including subscriptions, RBAC, policies.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and service health dashboards.
• Understanding of incident, problem, and change management practices in enterprise IT.
• Ability to follow runbooks and standard operating procedures while exercising sound technical judgment.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve AVD user login or session performance issues.
• Review Azure monitoring alerts and take corrective action.
• Support subscription and policy compliance checks within the landing zone.
• Maintain host pool health and coordinate session host updates.
• Document incidents, recurring issues, and corrective actions.
• Assist with scheduled maintenance and operational readiness activities.
