Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automated Azure infrastructure and Windows end‑point solutions. You will lead image engineering, vulnerability remediation, Defender security initiatives, and Windows 11 migrations using modern DevOps practices.

You will design image pipelines, manage Azure VM and image lifecycles, and automate deployments with Ansible, PowerShell, ARM templates, and YAML.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Azure infrastructure engineering experience with Azure Portal/CLI, ARM templates, managed images, and image builders.
• Expert-level Azure VM and image engineering for enterprise Windows environments.
• 6+ years of hands-on automation with Ansible, PowerShell, PSADT, Jinja2 and YAML.
• Strong GitLab CI/CD experience with MR workflows, branching, and artifact management.
• Proven experience with Windows 10/11 image creation, deployment, and hardening.
• Hands-on vulnerability management, security scans, Defender, Tanium, Nessus, Wiz, Zscaler, CyberArk.
• Experience with AD, Group Policy, Microsoft 365 Apps, and Oracle Client deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated Windows image deployment pipelines using Azure Image Builder and PowerShell.
• Lead Azure VM and Image Engineering activities, including image creation and lifecycle management.
• Support Windows 10/11 environments, including Sysprep, patching, and deployment.
• Develop automation solutions using Ansible, PowerShell, ARM templates, and YAML.
• Administer and optimize Azure infrastructure components and VM services.
• Build GitLab CI/CD pipelines with MR workflows and artifact governance.
• Conduct security scans, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities.
• Manage AD, GPO, Microsoft 365, Oracle Client deployments, and registry management.
• Monitor platform health with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk, and Performance tools.
• Support large-scale Windows 11 migration projects in Azure environments.
