Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP seeks an Infrastructure Cloud Architect to lead hands-on design, implementation, and governance of a large Azure-first hybrid cloud platform in a dynamic, client‑facing environment. You will drive secure, resilient infrastructure with automation, scalability, and cost discipline across networking, security, identity, and platform services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT infrastructure experience across architecture, engineering, cloud platforms, or enterprise delivery.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience designing, implementing, operating, or supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for complex Azure infrastructure initiatives, including IaC development and deployment.
• Architect, build, deploy, and optimize core Azure infrastructure capabilities (VNets, ExpressRoute, private endpoints, firewall, load balancing).
• Mature and operationalize the Azure-first hybrid cloud platform with standards, governance, automation, and cost management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Infrastructure, Security, Data/AI, and Business Applications to translate needs into practical cloud solutions.
• Mentor engineers on Azure best practices and modern delivery methods.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide senior escalation support.
