Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Cloud FinOps Engineer (FT, remote) to design and implement Azure-focused cost-management frameworks that align cloud spend with business goals. You will collaborate with finance, operations, and engineering to drive automation, governance, and data-driven insights across cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, automation frameworks and/or best practices.
• 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and infrastructure operations.
• 3 years of experience in Azure cloud financial management, cost optimization, billing models and reporting tools.
• FinOps Certified Practitioner, or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
• Preferred: Prior experience within a healthcare organization IT department.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive FinOps strategy for Azure cloud operations.
• Predict future cloud service expenses based on usage trends and organizational goals.
• Continuously monitor and analyze cloud costs to identify areas for optimization and savings.
• Partner with technical teams to manage cloud costs and ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Create and maintain reports detailing cloud spending, usage, and optimization opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with cloud service providers to negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
• Research and apply industry trends and best practices in cloud financial management.
• Perform administrative tasks including managing purchase orders and preparing budgetary information.
• Provide on-call support on rotating schedule.
