Job summary

Talentola is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate a scalable enterprise cloud platform in Microsoft Azure. You will enable development, data, and AI teams with self-service capabilities, automated deployments, and secure, compliant architectures.

You will own platform patterns, IaC via Pulumi, AKS operations, and CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, driving reliability, governance, and developer productivity across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/engineering.

The Senior Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating the enterprise cloud platform that enables development, data, and AI teams to deliver solutions rapidly, securely, and reliably. This role focuses on platform engineering, DevOps automation, developer self-service, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes operations, and cloud-native architecture within Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with a platform mindset, creating reusable, automated capabilities that improve developer productivity, operational excellence, security, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Engineering Design and implement internal platform capabilities that enable self-service deployment and management of cloud resources.
• Develop reusable platform patterns, templates, golden paths, and reference architectures.
• Partner with application, data, security, IAM, and SRE teams to standardize and automate platform services.
• Establish platform roadmaps that improve developer experience and accelerate delivery.
• DevOps & CI/CD Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Implement deployment automation across development, test, staging, and production environments.
• Establish release management, branching strategies, artifact management, and deployment governance.
• Enable secure, credential-free deployments using OIDC federation and managed identities.
• Measure and improve deployment frequency, lead time, and change success rates.
• Cloud Infrastructure Engineer and operate Azure platform services including: Virtual Networks Private Endpoints Azure DNS Key Vault Storage Accounts Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) API Management (APIM) Azure Front Door Design secure and scalable network architectures supporting enterprise workloads.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi Create reusable modules and deployment standards.
• Manage infrastructure lifecycle through source control and automated pipelines.
• Enforce configuration consistency across environments.
• Kubernetes & Container Platforms Deploy and manage workloads running on AKS.
• Implement Kubernetes operational best practices including:
• Scaling Resiliency Secrets management Ingress Develop container deployment standards and operational runbooks.
• Troubleshoot and optimize cluster performance and reliability.
• Developer Self-Service Build self-service platform capabilities that reduce manual infrastructure provisioning.
• Provide standardized deployment templates and automation workflows.
• Improve developer onboarding and application delivery experiences.
• Integrate platform services into developer portals and workflow automation platforms.
• Security & Identity Implement secure cloud architectures aligned with enterprise security policies.
• Integrate Azure services with Entra ID.
• Configure Managed Identities, OAuth/OIDC, service principals, and workload identity federation.
• Collaborate with IAM teams on authentication, authorization, and least-privilege access models.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security and regulatory requirements.
• Observability & Reliability Implement monitoring and observability using Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tools.
• Develop dashboards, s, and operational metrics.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
• Partner with SRE teams to improve platform reliability and performance.
• FinOps & Governance Support cloud governance initiatives.
• Implement tagging, chargeback, and cost allocation strategies.
• Identify optimization opportunities for cloud resources.
• Partner with FinOps teams on cloud consumption reporting and financial accountability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience designing and implementing GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code Experience operating Kubernetes platforms, preferably AKS.
• Experience with container technologies including Docker.
• Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience supporting cloud security and identity solutions.
• Familiarity with networking, DNS, load balancing, and cloud connectivity architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDP).
• Experience supporting data and analytics platforms such as: Databricks Postgres Data Lake technologies AI/ML platforms
• Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or enterprise-scale environments.
• Azure certifications such as: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Azure DevOps Engineer Expert Azure Administrator Associate Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or equivalent).
