Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Azure Databricks Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise-scale Azure Databricks environments. The role collaborates with data engineers, architects, and application teams to maintain a secure, scalable cloud analytics platform.

The candidate will administer workspaces, monitor performance, enforce security, and automate deployments using Terraform and Azure tooling in a remote SF-based setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years IT experience with 5+ years as Scrum Master in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Azure Databricks administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Azure Databricks workspaces, clusters, notebooks, jobs, libraries, and integrations.
• Monitor and optimize Databricks performance, scaling, and efficiency.
• Manage Azure infrastructure components: VMs, storage, networks, Key Vault, Monitor.
• Enforce Databricks security controls, RBAC, Unity Catalog governance, access policies.
• Monitor cloud health with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights, Databricks tools.
• Diagnose and resolve Azure infrastructure issues to ensure reliability.
• Develop backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
• Automate deployments with Terraform, ARM/Bicep, PowerShell, Azure CLI.
• Support CI/CD with Azure DevOps, Git repos, and IaC practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize platform, costs, security, and governance.
