Job summary

Steel Dynamics is seeking a Data Engineer to own and evolve a modern data stack, moving data from diverse sources into analytics-ready models that power decision making. You will design and operate pipelines, shape semantic models in Power BI and Fabric, and optimize our Azure Stack and ERP data structures.

The role requires 3–5 years of data engineering experience, strong SQL skills, and hands-on experience with orchestration tools. This is a permanent onsite position based in Columbia City, IN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in data-related field.
• 3–5 years of professional data engineering experience in production.
• Experience with ETL pipelines and orchestration tools.
• Experience with Azure data services (Azure Data Lake, Data Factory).
• Proficiency in SQL with advanced capabilities and performance tuning.
• Experience building semantic models in Power BI or Fabric.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve a modern data stack to move data from diverse sources to analytics-ready models.
• Design and operate data pipelines and semantic models.
• Optimize and manage the Azure Stack and ERP data structures and ETL services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure data quality and reliability.
