Job summary

SYSCOM, Inc. seeks an experienced Azure Database Engineer to join a large-scale cloud modernization initiative. You will design and implement Azure data lakes, cloud databases, and enterprise data solutions using Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL.

This approximately 10-month contract offers a high-impact modernization project with a collaborative technical team and potential extensions based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, and implementing data lakes and databases in Azure.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Strong experience developing data transformations and cloud integration.
• Strong experience coding and testing programs to load data using Azure data load utilities.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud computing concepts.
• Experience with tools such as Azure Monitor, Data Factory, SQL Analytics, Resource Manager, Azure CLI/PowerShell.
• Experience developing backup and recovery strategies using Azure Backup or Geo-replication.
• Experience with RBAC, encryption, and network security.
• Approximately 7 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing data lakes and databases in Azure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement relational and non-relational databases in Azure.
• Develop and implement data transformations.
• Ensure data access patterns are optimized.
• Maintain necessary documentation.
• Coordinate with teams to meet security standards.
• Implement disaster recovery solutions.
• Provide knowledge transfer.
