Job summary

System One is seeking a Data Modeler & Architect in Washington, DC (hybrid) for a contract-to-hire engagement. The role focuses on designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support analytics and reporting, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in data modeling, 6+ years with client stakeholders, and proficiency in SQL Server, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS, and Python or PowerShell.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in data modeling and data warehousing.
• 6+ years directly collaborating with client stakeholders and business users.

Responsibilities

• Understand business data needs with stakeholders.
• Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for analytics.
• Maintain source-target mappings and data standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design queries and reports.
• Optimize models for Azure data architectures and Power BI.
• Support migration from legacy EDW to Azure Data Lake Platform.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance.
