Job summary

Kaufman Rossin is seeking a Senior Azure Architect to guide cloud modernization. You will lead migration efforts from AWS to Azure, set architectural standards, and advance data, analytics, AI, and virtual desktop capabilities across the organization.

The role combines senior-level architecture with hands-on implementation, emphasizing security, cost control, and scalable solutions. You’ll collaborate with enterprise teams to translate business goals into blueprints while adhering to TOGAF

Qualifications

• Establish cloud architecture standards, guardrails, patterns, and decision frameworks for engineering teams.
• Translate business objectives into long term architecture blueprints using TOGAF or an equivalent framework.
• Conduct current state and future state assessments to identify technology gaps, redundancies, risks, and cost optimization opportunities.
• Develop Architecture Decision Records for major platform and technology decisions.
• Lead recurring architecture reviews across Platform Engineering initiatives.
• AWS Assessment and Azure Migration; evaluate workloads, costs, and migration complexity.
• Develop a phased migration roadmap aligned with priorities and requirements.
• Determine migration approach per workload: re-hosting, re-platforming, refactoring, or retirement.
• Design Azure native solutions using AKS, Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture strategy and governance for cloud modernization initiatives.
• Oversee data platform architecture with ADLS Gen2, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric.
• Design AI architecture including RAG pipelines, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
• Architect Azure Virtual Desktop migration from Citrix, including host pools and image management.
• Ensure security, performance, reliability, and cost management standards are met.
