Responsibilities

  • Lead Azure Cloud Operations and Support delivery across incident, change, problem, request, and automation workstreams.
  • Drive ITIL-aligned service management practices with measurable improvements.
  • Manage major incidents end-to-end with bridge coordination and customer communication.
  • Review RCAs for quality, technical accuracy, and preventive actions.
  • Conduct PIR reviews with customers and vendors to identify gaps and actions.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to drive automation, Terraform, Ansible, and patching.
  • Translate operational needs into agile stories with owners and timelines.
  • Provide status updates in governance calls and executive dashboards.
  • Communicate risks, blockers, incidents, changes, and improvements to stakeholders.
  • Manage vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Use ServiceNow, New Relic, Azure Monitor for tracking alerts and service health.

Job description

Technical Project Manager – Azure Cloud Operations

Work Location: Mckinney, TX

Experience: 9 to 12 years

  • Strong technical project management experience in Azure Cloud Operations with the ability to lead customer conversations, guide technical teams, and drive resolution across complex cloud support scenarios.
  • Hands-on understanding of Azure technologies including Azure Automation, Azure Monitor, Azure Update Manager, virtual machines, networking, identity, cost governance, and operational best practices.
  • Deep exposure to Infrastructure as Code and automation practices using Terraform and Ansible to support repeatable provisioning, configuration management, patching, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong experience in vulnerability remediation programs, including backlog prioritization, patch coordination, risk tracking, remediation governance, and executive-level progress reporting.
  • Top-notch understanding of ITIL framework and proven ability to drive incident, major incident, problem, change, request, and continual improvement processes.
  • Excellent experience in leading major incidents, coordinating technical bridges, managing stakeholder updates, tracking chronology, ensuring service restoration, and driving post-incident follow-through.
  • Strong capability in reviewing RCAs, validating corrective and preventive actions, facilitating PIR reviews with stakeholders, and ensuring sustainable closure of recurring issues.
  • Proven ability to convert operational requirements into agile stories, track sprint execution, manage backlog hygiene, and collaborate with distributed teams across time zones.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, customer governance, executive reporting, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Good understanding of monitoring tools and operational observability practices using ServiceNow, New Relic, Azure Monitor, dashboards, alerting, ticket correlation, and service health reporting.
  • Accountable for service delivery governance, resource coordination, risk management, status reporting, and implementation of industry-standard processes and operational best practices.
What you will do:
  • Lead Azure Cloud Operations and Support delivery across incident, change, problem, request, vulnerability remediation, automation, and platform governance workstreams.
  • Drive ITIL-aligned service management practices, ensuring consistent process adherence, measurable service improvements, and implementation of industry-standard best practices.
  • Manage major incidents end-to-end, including bridge coordination, customer communication, impact assessment, chronology tracking, escalation management, and service restoration governance.
  • Review RCAs for quality, completeness, technical accuracy, recurrence prevention, and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct PIR reviews with customers, stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to identify gaps, lessons learned, improvement actions, and ownership timelines.
  • Partner with technical teams to drive Azure Automation, Terraform, Ansible, Azure Update Manager, patching, configuration management, and vulnerability remediation execution.
  • Convert operational requirements, remediation activities, and improvement opportunities into agile user stories with clear acceptance criteria, estimates, owners, timelines, and progress tracking.
  • Represent delivery status in daily stand-ups, customer governance calls, weekly reviews, monthly service reviews, leadership updates, and executive dashboards.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder communication by providing timely, transparent, outcome-oriented updates on risks, blockers, incidents, changes, vulnerabilities, and service improvement actions.
  • Manage vendors and cross-functional teams to drive ownership, governance, dependency closure, SLA adherence, and timely delivery of operational outcomes.
  • Use monitoring and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, New Relic, Azure Monitor, and service dashboards to track alerts, trends, service health, ticket aging, recurring issues, and operational performance.
  • Own delivery governance including resource planning, risk tracking, reporting, backlog prioritization, process compliance, and continual service improvement roadmap execution.
