Job summary

TEAL Staffing is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Platform Architect to help build a Microsoft cloud environment from the ground up as it separates from a shared tech stack.

You’ll assess the current setup, define future-state architecture, and actively build and migrate to the new Azure platform, becoming the internal owner over time. Strong leadership and hands-on design/implementation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience architecting enterprise Azure infrastructure/platform environments.
• Strong Azure infrastructure, networking and Microsoft Entra ID experience.
• Experience designing/building Azure Landing Zones and cloud governance.
• Experience with cloud migrations; tenant-to-tenant, M&A/divestiture or on-prem-to-Azure is valuable.
• Experience in regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare or government.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure architecture, Landing Zones, governance and platform standards.
• Lead Azure networking and hybrid connectivity initiatives.
• Manage identity and access with Microsoft Entra ID; enforce RBAC and security controls.
• Oversee tenant/workload migrations and cloud transformations.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code with Terraform/Bicep and maintain platform roadmaps.

We’re recruiting for an experienced Azure Cloud Platform Architect to help an organization build its own Microsoft cloud environment from the ground up as it separates from a shared technology environment.

This is not a maintenance role. You’ll join during the early stages of the transition, assess the existing environment, help define the future-state architecture, and play a hands-on role in building and migrating to the new Azure platform.

An experienced migration partner is supporting the transition and will provide knowledge transfer and technical support. Over time, this role will become the internal technical owner of the cloud platform and help shape and build the team responsible for it.

What You’ll Work On

• Azure architecture, Landing Zones, governance and platform standards
• Azure networking and hybrid connectivity
• Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management
• Tenant and workload migrations, including Azure and Microsoft 365
• Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or Bicep
• Azure Policy, RBAC and cloud security controls
• Microsoft Defender, Sentinel and related security tooling
• Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint
• Monitoring, resiliency, backup and disaster recovery
• Platform roadmap, documentation and long-term operational ownership

What We’re Looking For

• Several years of experience architecting enterprise Azure infrastructure/platform environments
• Strong Azure infrastructure, networking and Microsoft Entra ID experience
• Experience designing or building Azure Landing Zones and cloud governance
• Experience with cloud migrations; tenant-to-tenant, M&A/divestiture or on-prem-to-Azure experience is especially valuable
• Experience working in a regulated environment such as financial services, healthcare or government
• Ability to assess an environment, identify gaps and translate those findings into an architecture and implementation plan
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a greenfield environment

Preferred:

Terraform/Bicep, Microsoft 365, DevOps, Defender/Sentinel and prior consulting or MSP Solutions Architect experience.

You do not need to be an expert in every Microsoft technology. The priority is deep Azure infrastructure architecture experience, strong networking and identity fundamentals, and the ability to take ownership of building an enterprise cloud platform.
