Job summary

Empire State is seeking an Azure Cloud Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable Azure infrastructure from an Albany office. You will oversee hybrid connectivity, implement IaC, and optimize performance across Azure environments.

The role requires strong Azure networking expertise, security-minded design, and hands-on experience with Azure services, monitoring, and disaster recovery planning. In-office presence applies with potential hybrid options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT field with 3+ years in Azure networking.
• AZ-104 and AZ-305 certifications are a plus.
• Extensive experience in network engineering in cloud environments.
• Security-first mindset in designing secure Azure architectures.
• Proficient in IaC and Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable Azure infrastructure.
• Administer Azure services: VMs, SQL, Storage, App Gateway, WAF, VPN.
• Configure VNet, Load Balancers, DNS, routing, and BGP in Azure.
• Implement IaC using ARM, Bicep, Terraform.
• Monitor and optimize Azure resources for availability, performance, security, cost.
• Manage Azure identity and access with Azure AD and RBAC.
• Implement monitoring/logging/alerts with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Stay current with Azure tech and security threats; drive improvements.
• Assist in IT Disaster Recovery testing and documentation.
• Perform other duties as required by IT management.
