Job summary

Atlas Tech seeks an experienced Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer to join our on-site North Charleston team, with telework allowed two days per week. You will architect, deploy, and automate cloud infrastructure for naval software systems, building pipelines and IaC templates for scalable, secure operations.

Applicants should have DoD experience, a Secret clearance or interim clearance, and proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and containerization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cloud engineering experience with Azure, AWS or GCP
• DoD 8140/8570 certifications to be qualified as an IAT II
• DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain interim clearance
• US Citizenship required
• Experience in a DEVOPS role overseeing complex IT infrastructure
• Experience with Ansible and automation platforms
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
• Ability to design, deploy, and manage multi-tier cloud applications and services
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes and collaborative work style
• Excellent documentation and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic and focus on quality
• Ability to multi-task and balance priorities

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for cloud infrastructure, automating operations, and building deployment tools
• Develop automated deployment pipelines and IaC templates
• Build solutions to automate cloud operations including monitoring and backup
• Provide expertise in cloud architecture and modern infrastructure practices
• Design and optimize cloud architectures for performance, cost-efficiency and security
• Prepare architecture proposals and present to engineering teams
• Support cloud migration initiatives and CI/CD processes
• Decompose tasks and provide status updates
• Research new technologies to support enterprise automation
• Document systems in a clear and accessible way
• Assist in improving internal processes and onboarding new team members
• Collaborate across multiple groups to resolve complex issues
