Job summary

Skywalk Global seeks an Azure Cloud Engineer to join the Eng and Ops team supporting Virginia tolling applications. The role covers engineering, applications support, and desk‑side support with API Gateways, AVD, AppInsights, and Office365 integrations.

Responsibilities include ensuring Virginia government security compliance, maintaining governance artifacts, IAM least‑ privilege reviews, and cost governance. Collaboration with architects and cross‑functional teams is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure services.
• Minimum 3 years supporting VDOT/E‑ZPass Virginia tolling applications, infrastructure, and cloud workloads with hands-on diagnostic work.
• Bachelor’s degree in computerscience, information systems, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate requirements and design concepts clearly.
• Experience working in Windows environments.
• Experience with PCI or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience analyzing cloud cost trends and delivering cost optimization recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Virginia government security, IAM, network controls, and cost governance.
• Maintain and improve infrastructure documentation, naming conventions, tagging standards, and cloud governance artifacts.
• Assist with access reviews, role assignments, and least-privilege IAM evaluations.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, access, security, performance, and service degradation issues.
• Analyze and tune system/application performance.
• Participate in daily/weekly operational cycles including pattern monitoring and incident reviews.
• Triage production issues, ensure timely resolution, and document root-cause findings.
• Support optimization of integrations and data movement.
• Apply PCI or other regulatory compliance requirements when evaluating system behavior and logging patterns.
• Work with architects, engineers, managers, and cross-functional teams to use Azure services effectively.
• Communicate clearly in written and verbal form with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support multiple concurrent projects of complex technical scope.
