Job summary

Deloitte Technology in the United States seeks an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to design and deploy secure, scalable Azure solutions. The role includes IaC, DevOps pipelines, compliance checks, and ongoing optimization of cost, performance, and security across VMs, AKS, App Services and storage.

You will collaborate with teams, maintain docs, and stay current with Azure AI integrations. Applicants should have 3+ years Azure experience, strong PowerShell, IaC skills, and Agile fluency;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/CE or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure; architecture, configuration and management.
• Familiarity with Azure services including VMs, App Services, Storage, AKS, Networking.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) such as ARM, Terraform, or Bicep.
• Active Azure certifications preferred (AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-400).
• Full stack development experience is an advantage; strong Agile knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy Azure services with security, scalability, and availability in mind.
• Implement IaC using Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• Configure VMs, App Services, AKS, Functions, Storage, and related Azure components.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting for performance, security, reliability and cost.
• Manage identity with Entra ID and RBAC.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and audits to identify issues.
• Automate tasks using Azure Automation and develop CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps.
• Provide technical support for cloud apps and infrastructure; troubleshoot performance issues.
• Integrate cloud platforms with other systems to ensure data consistency.
• Participate in assessments and audits to ensure compliance with standards.
• Ensure SLAs are met and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain technical guides and operational procedures.
• Stay updated on emerging Azure services and technologies; apply where applicable.
• Use DevOps practices and GitHub for version control.
• Work with Azure AI services and integration with core Azure infra.

Work you'll do

• Design and deploy Azure services, ensuring compliance with best practices for security, scalability, and availability.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Configure Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, App Services, Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Storage Accounts, etc.

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to provide visibility into application, infrastructure performance, security, reliability and cost.

• Manage identity and access using Microsoft Entra ID and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and audits to identify and remediate vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.

• Automate routine tasks and workflows using Azure Automation and develop Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.

• Provide technical support for cloud-based applications and infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and availability issues. This includes Windows and Linux VM support.

• Hands-on experience in integrating cloud platforms with other cloud-based systems, ensuring data consistency and availability.

• Participate in assessments and audits of existing Azure deployments to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

• Ensure operational activities are completed within the required SLAs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support tailored Azure solutions.

• Develop and maintain documentation, including technical guides and operational procedures.

• Stay updated on emerging Azure services and technologies, integrating them where applicable.

• Use DevOps practices, including Github for version control, to manage cloud.

• Working knowledge of Azure AI services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services, Microsoft Foundry) and how they integrate with core Azure infrastructure (VNets, Private Endpoints, Key Vault, etc.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience

• 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure, including architecture, configuration, and management.

• Familiarity with Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure Storage, Azure Policy, AKS, Azure Databases, Azure Network etc

• Strong experience with PowerShell Scripting.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.

• Relevant active Azure certifications, such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ - 104), Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ - 400), are preferred.

• Full stack development experience is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
