Job summary

Kavaliro is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to design, implement, and manage data solutions on Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms in a direct-hire role in California. The candidate will oversee data pipelines, storage, processing, analysis, and integration to enable data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Azure migration experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and experience with Data Factory, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of Azure migration experience.
• Proven experience using Python and SQL.
• Experience with Azure: Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake Storage, SQL DW, Analysis Services.
• ETL experience in a data warehouse environment and big data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data processing pipelines and storage environments using cloud services.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate data requirements into solutions.
• Ensure data is cleansed, mapped, and transformed for storage and use.
• Build data pipelines and workflows for ingestion, processing, and distribution.
• Load transformed data into data warehouses and analytics applications.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data environments for high availability and performance.
• Provide on-call support for critical production systems.
• Implement data security measures including encryption, access controls, and auditing.
• Document data procedures and architectures to ensure clarity and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor IT staff on security practices and emerging technologies.
• Engage with a System Integrator and review SOWs, invoices, and KPIs.
