Job summary

Mizuho is seeking a Lead Cloud Architect to head the Azure-focused architecture within the Cloud Platform team. You will drive target-state architecture, define standards, and enforce conformance through a scalable framework.

This role emphasizes technical leadership over people management and includes regulator-facing collaboration and cross-domain influence. You will own the Azure landing zone, guardrails, and policy-driven controls, shaping a platform still young enough to define.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud architecture or infrastructure engineering, with Azure at enterprise scale.
• Experience in regulated financial services with audit/regulatory exposure.
• Track record of defining target-state architecture and standards adopted in practice.
• Expertise in Azure landing zone design, hybrid networking, and identity architecture.
• Strong command of IaC, CI/CD, and policy-as-code.
• Familiarity with CIS, ISO 27001, NIST controls and encryption management.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve secure Azure landing zone architecture aligned to regulatory audits.
• Publish standards and patterns: reference implementations and IaC modules.
• Enforce guardrails via Azure Policy and landing zone controls.
• Collaborate with Security, Risk, and Compliance on regulatory controls.
• Lead modernization, migration, and optimization across domains.
• Represent cloud architecture in audit and senior technology forums.
• Provide technical leadership and pattern evangelism across the team.
