Job summary

CloudAI Technologies in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect/Engineer to design and implement enterprise cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will translate agency requirements into scalable, secure designs and drive cost-aware decisions and tradeoffs for stakeholders.

You will own the Azure landing zone, manage RBAC and policies, and mentor other engineers while ensuring changes are deployed through IaC and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of AWS and Nerdio is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure engineering with 5+ years in Microsoft Azure.
• Design and delivery of an enterprise Azure landing zone (management groups, Policy, RBAC, hub-and-spoke networking).
• Hands-on Terraform production experience with reusable modules and remote state.
• Experience building infrastructure CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, conditional access, and identity governance.
• Experience planning or leading migrations of on-prem workloads to Azure.
• Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3).
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers; clear architecture docs and runbooks.
• Strong written communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex cloud implementations in Azure from assessment to migration waves.
• Define Azure landing zone architecture including RBAC and security baselines.
• Ensure production changes are delivered through code and PRs.
• Provide architectural oversight of Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio Manager.
• Track cloud spend and support chargeback reporting.
• Mentor Azure Cloud Engineers and maintain runbooks and diagrams.
