Cleveland, OH - Hybrid 3 days onsite

Pay: $75-$90/hr (W2 or 1099. NO C2C)

We are seeking a Cloud Application Architect to join a high-visibility stabilization initiative supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, can quickly assess existing systems, and drive architectural improvements with minimal ramp-up time.

This engagement requires a best-in-class architect capable of combining strategic architecture leadership with deep technical execution across Microsoft Azure, modern application development, and cloud-native design patterns.

You will work closely with engineering teams to modernize applications, improve platform reliability, and establish scalable architecture standards while actively contributing to development and troubleshooting efforts.

What You’ll Do

• Design and evolve cloud-native application architectures within Microsoft Azure
• Lead stabilization and modernization efforts for enterprise platforms
• Define architectural standards for microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
• Modernize legacy applications into scalable cloud-native solutions
• Implement best practices for security, scalability, resiliency, and performance
• Partner with platform, integration, and data teams on end-to-end system design
• Improve observability, monitoring, and operational reliability
• Conduct architecture and code reviews while mentoring engineering teams
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development and analysis
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and guide long-term technical direction

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience with C#, .NET, and .NET Core
• Deep expertise designing solutions in Microsoft Azure, including:
• Azure storage and messaging services
• Microservices and distributed system architecture
• REST API design and system integrations
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience using AI-assisted development or engineering tools

Required Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• Proven success delivering enterprise cloud platforms
• Experience modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native architectures
• Ability to quickly assess environments and deliver impact with minimal onboarding

This is not a purely advisory role. The architect will:

• Participate directly in application design and development
• Perform architecture and code reviews
• Diagnose and resolve production challenges
• Provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in implementation
