• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• 21 years of age at appointment.
• Must obtain AZPOST certification within one year of employment.
• Must pass AZPOST physical agility test.
• Must obtain Arizona driver's license and maintain it.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend AZPOST academy to learn deputy principles and procedures.
• Participate in indoor and outdoor training sessions and physical conditioning.
• Learn to drive under normal and emergency conditions.
• Develop report-writing and observation skills.
• Understand and apply laws and use of firearm where required.
