Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree. Must have the required degree by the start date.
• Sufficient proficiency in Azerbaijani to teach foundation and lower-division courses; non-native speakers may need evidence of proficiency.
• Sufficient proficiency in English to teach English-speaking students and counsel students.
• Willingness to participate in professional development and training in language pedagogy.
• Ability to use LMS and computer-based software for course delivery.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more undergraduate Azerbaijani language courses as assigned.
• Meet with students one-on-one or in small groups for supplemental instruction.
• Participate in professional development workshops and respond to recommendations.
• Write a course syllabus and set up course materials on the BYU Learning Suite platform.
• Respond promptly to communications from the Center for Language Studies.
• Attend new instructor training and in-service training toward winter break.
