Job summary

BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Senior AWS and Web Application Business Analyst for the federal CIO IT program. The role focuses on gathering requirements for AWS and modern web apps, with strong emphasis on documentation, BPM, and backlog management.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in business analysis, experience in Agile settings, and ability to obtain a Public Trust. The position follows a hybrid schedule and requires clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in business analysis and requirements documentation.
• Experience in an Agile environment and with Agile ceremonies.
• Experience with AWS Cloud, Angular, hashing and encryption concepts.
• Strong verbal and written communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Gather and prioritize business and user requirements for AWS/web projects.
• Write, evaluate, analyze and communicate system requirements continuously.
• Develop and update As-Is/To-Be documentation and other requirements docs.
• Perform Business Process Modelling (BPM).
• Create and maintain a detailed product backlog aligned with business goals.
• Monitor product performance using data-driven insights.
• Act as primary point of contact for product inquiries and issues.
• Support Agile scrum activities as a secondary scrum master when needed.

Position Information:

BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Senior AWS and Web Application Business Analyst (BA) to join the AWS Cloud development effort of the team supporting our federal customer’s Chief Information Officer. The candidate should have experience with AWS Cloud and Modern Web Applications, and experience working in Federal IT organizations is preferred.

Essential Functions:

• Work with the AWS/Web Application teams and stakeholders to gather and prioritize business and user requirements against the clear objectives articulated for the AWS development project(s).


• Write, evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes.


• Develop and update “As-Is” and “To-Be” documentation and other requirements documentation.


• Execute Business Process Modelling (BPM).


• Execute Brainstorming and context diagramming with technical team members, system users, and other stakeholders.


• Work with developers and testers to write use cases.


• Facilitate working sessions with the technical team and/or stakeholders to understand gaps and requirements.


• Apply analytical techniques to gather information from users, define work problems, and design technology solutions.


• Create and maintain a detailed product backlog, ensuring it is aligned with business goals and customer needs


• Monitor and analyze product performance, using data-driven insights to make informed decisions


• Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related inquiries and issues


• Ability to support Agile scrum activities as a secondary scrum master as required.

Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.


• A High School Diploma or GED is required


• Minimum of 8 years of experience in business analysis and requirements documentation.


• A combination of relevant education and professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.


• Able to work in a technical environment (AWS Cloud, Angular, familiar with concepts like hashing and encryption)


• Experience working in an Agile environment and with Agile ceremonies.


• Intermediate to Expert user of Microsoft Office to include MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.


• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.


• Experience working in Web Applications and vetting and documenting requirements for Web specific use cases and experience flows.


• Proven work experience as a business analyst or Product Owner.


• Able to work in a fast-paced agile environment.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


• Excellent interpersonal skills.


• This position follows a hybrid work schedule


• Ability to obtain a Public Trust is required
