Strategic Business Systems (SBS) is seeking an AWS Software Engineer (Cloud/DevOps) to join a high-security federal program onsite at Fort Meade, MD. You will own services end-to-end, from coding to deployment, monitoring, and production operations, with required TS/SCI clearance and CI polygraph.

The role emphasizes cloud-native design, CI/CD, Terraform/CloudFormation, and containerized deployments using Docker with ECS/EKS.

Qualificações

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including cloud.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, TypeScript, or C#.
• Experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, IAM.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Docker and container deployments.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical docs and coordination.

POSITION SUMMARY

SBS is partnering with Amazon Web Services to staff senior engineers who blend application development with cloud and DevOps engineering on a high-visibility federal program. You will own services end-to-end from writing the code to deploying, monitoring, and operating it in production.

This role requires a current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph and is staffed onsite at Fort Meade, MD. You will work alongside AWS Professional Services and the customer's mission application teams on systems where uptime, performance, and security matter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable AWS-native applications and services.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable safe, frequent, and auditable deployments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Develop APIs, microservices, and event-driven components using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, and EventBridge.
• Ensure applications meet production-readiness, security, and performance standards before release.
• Containerize workloads with Docker and operate them on Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across development, integration, and production environments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with AWS, customer architecture teams, and other vendors.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Continuously optimize system performance, cost, and operational efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Six (6) or more years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial work in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language: Python, Java, JavaScript / TypeScript, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, and IAM.
• Demonstrated experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Docker and container-based deployment.
• Comfort in Linux environments with shell scripting (Bash) skills.
• Strong full-lifecycle ownership from requirements through production support.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation, stakeholder coordination, and customer-facing delivery.

Target Salary Range: $150,000-230,000. This range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual salary will be based on a combination of factors, including the positions scope and level of responsibility, the candidates relevant experience, education, technical expertise, skills and qualifications, geographic location, and applicable business or contractual requirements.
