Job Title: AWS Practice Director

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic AWS Practice Director to lead the growth and maturity of our AWS-focused practice. This leadership role combines technical depth, market engagement, alliance development, and a go-to-market (GTM) mindset. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS implementations and architecture, with a passion for building scalable service offerings and enabling cross-functional teams to drive cloud revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, evolve, and scale the AWS services portfolio, including architecture, migration, DevOps, data, security, and modernization offerings
- Develop and maintain repeatable delivery frameworks, accelerators, and best practices
- Enable internal teams through reusable assets, technical training, and playbooks
- Partner with sales and pre-sales teams to shape pursuits and drive AWS-based solution selling
- Create collateral, pricing models, and value propositions that align with client needs and market trends
- Support strategic deal pursuits by engaging in executive briefings, client workshops, and solution shaping
AWS Alliance Management
- Act as primary liaison with AWS alliance teams across Partner Development Managers (PDMs), Solution Architects, and Co-Sell programs
- Drive joint GTM planning, funding requests, and certifications
- Strengthen cloud ecosystem participation through AWS Marketplace and APN programs
Market & Community Engagement
- Build market visibility through thought leadership, webinars, case studies, and industry events
- Maintain a network of AWS technical and business contacts to monitor trends and inform roadmap
Technical Oversight
- Guide solutioning and high-level architecture across AWS engagements
- Review and advise on technical implementation strategies, particularly for high-complexity migrations or modernizations
- Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to ensure technical quality and customer success
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years in IT consulting or cloud services, with 5+ years of AWS-focused leadership experience
- Strong experience in practice development, including service creation, P&L alignment, and delivery enablement
- Demonstrated success in partnering with sales teams to win and deliver cloud solutions
- Deep understanding of AWS service portfolio, pricing, and reference architectures
- Proven ability to build and grow alliance relationships, particularly with AWS
- Experience in leading or overseeing complex AWS implementation projects
- Excellent communication, executive presence, and strategic planning skills
- AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) preferred
Travel Requirements
- Remote-first role with occasional travel (~20–30%) for client meetings, AWS events, or internal summits as needed
