Job summary

VSO Inc. is seeking an experienced AWS Modeling & Simulation Data Engineer to build the data and compute backbone for advanced modeling and simulation.

You will work with a highly skilled team to run demanding analytical workloads securely and efficiently in a controlled environment. Design data ingestion and processing pipelines, enable GPU-enabled compute with EC2 and AWS Batch, and optimize large datasets with reliability and repeatability in mind.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, modeling and simulation, or related technical engineering.
• Hands-on AWS experience with data pipelines and compute-intensive workloads.
• Ability to design reliable data processing and storage solutions.
• Hands-on AWS cloud experience and ability to work effectively in highly controlled environments.

Virtual Service Operations (VSO) is seeking an experienced AWS Modeling & Simulation Data Engineer to join a highly skilled team delivering advanced cloud engineering capabilities for a mission-critical, security-sensitive initiative. Build the data and compute backbone for advanced modeling and simulation. This role blends data engineering with scalable AWS compute to help technical teams run demanding analytical workloads securely and efficiently. You will work with experienced technical partners in a collaborative environment where careful engineering and measurable results matter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design data ingestion, storage, and processing pipelines for simulation workloads.


• Support GPU-enabled compute and scalable workloads using Amazon EC2, AWS Batch, or HPC patterns.


• Optimize movement, organization, and retrieval of large datasets.


• Work with engineers and analysts to improve repeatability, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in data engineering, modeling and simulation, or related technical engineering.


• Hands-on AWS experience with data pipelines and compute-intensive workloads.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with simulation platforms or scientific computing workloads.


• GPU-enabled EC2, AWS Batch, HPC, and large-scale scenario data.


• Relevant AWS professional or specialty certifications; Security+ or CISSP where applicable.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance; must be eligible for applicable SCI read-on/indoctrination and additional program-specific access approvals.


• Must reside within commuting distance of one of the following 4 approved secure work locations: Herndon, VA; Washington, DC; Seattle, WA; or Denver, CO.


• Regular on-site work in an approved secure facility and occasional work at authorized customer facilities may be required. This is not a remote position.


• Full-time position, on-site
